SDGs Today, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network

SDGs Today is a data and GIS program of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and was launched by Prof. Jeffrey Sachs at the High-Level Political Forum in 2020, with foundational support from Esri and the National Geographic Society. It promotes the use and production of timely, geospatial, and non-traditional data to advance the SDGs. It provides a global snapshot of sustainable development, co-designs research initiatives, fosters partnerships to produce and utilize non-traditional data sources, and offers training and educational programs to support informed decision-making and accelerate progress toward the 2030 global goals.

The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) operates under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General, mobilizing the world’s largest knowledge network to drive action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Established in 2012 by the former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, and world-renowned economist and professor, Jeffrey Sachs, the SDSN promotes integrated approaches to sustainable development through education, research, policy analysis, and global cooperation.
