Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation
The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), in collaboration with Planet Labs and Microsoft's AI for Good Lab, constructs geostatistical models that estimate population counts per human structure. This approach enables the creation of up-to-date, detailed population maps, which are crucial for planning and responding to climate-related challenges.
At the time of this writing, work on these gridded population estimates was ongoing.
